What is Spinal Stenosis?

Spinal refers to your spinal cord, which consists of vertebrae running down your back, and stenosis simply means narrowing. When these vertebrae start pressing on the nerves within our spinal cord, narrowing begins.

Spinal stenosis is most commonly caused by arthritis, scoliosis, or injury. Symptoms may include: pain or numbness in the neck, back, or legs, trouble controlling bladder and bowel function, a burning sensation down the legs, loss of sensation, weakness, or cramping in the arms or legs, loss of sexual drive, or difficulty walking for long periods and distance, foot pain.
